Always striving to venture into newer areas of engineering and fabrication in the oil and gas industry, Kencana Petroleum Group is now exploring the vast opportunities of marine engineering especially in the areas of conversion, repair and new building.

The Group has embarked on the completion of its first tender assisted rig, the Kencana Mermaid 1 or KM 1. Under its expansion plan, 3 more are in the pipeline on a joint venture basis.

Due for completion in October 2009, the design and engineering was done in-house at its Lumut fabrication yard
